I would like to take this opportunity to celebrate the fantastic experience I had with getting a large interior restoration done on my classic car with Stu and Ross. Stu and Ross are, in my view, the best in their league. Absolute craftsmen. They are so incredibly passionate and skilled and have outstanding people skills, giving you confidence through regular communication and updates that your pride and joy Is in the best hands. These guys truly do care about your vehicle. Stu and Ross delivered an outstanding result, on time and on budget. Importantly these guys came up with excellent solutions throughout the build.
Nothing was an issue. The devil is in the detail and these guys aced it. The finished product was above expectation and I have no hesitation to recommend that anyone looking to get interior work done to go to see these guys. If you are as particular as I am, I guarantee you won’t be disappointed.
I am blown away by the result and truly grateful.
Thanks, Stu and Ross.

I recently imported from Australia a 1972 Citroen SM Coupe, Maserati-powered, a fairly rare and appreciating classic.
It had been the subject of a ground-up body and mechanical restoration by noted Sydney SM specialist, Peter McLeod of SM Australia.
All that remained was to restore the interior upholstery to replace the seriously dried out and cracked leather.
My researches led me to Stu’s. Their quiet sensible description of what they would do, and how, to the complex deep-pleated leather seats, gave me the confidence to accept their quote.
They kept me informed as the work progressed. Anything uncovered that needed attention (eg seat frames) was raised and discussed.
The quality of the work exceeded my expectations. It was magnificent. The car won a major prize in its first NZ rally outing, and has featured in the August 2019 edition of NZ Autocar magazine, complete with acknowledgment of Stu’s fine work to the interior.
I highly recommend these guys !

Stu’s Trim & Sound have done work on various cars for me over many years, including an Aston Martin DBS V8, an E Type and a BMW 3.0 CSi. They are currently doing the re-trim on my DB6 restoration, with an eye on retaining as much originality as possible. Their service and workmanship is superb, which is why I always recommend them to others.

I had several workshops recommended to me when looking for someone to restore the interior of my 1971 Aston Martin after a bare chassis rebuild.
When I first met Ross and Stu, I was struck by their frankness and focus on quality and attention to detail. They take on projects that they can get their teeth in to and take real pride in the end result. Their craftsmanship was first class. Communication was excellent and their willingness to solve problems and tackle the difficult aspects of upholstery, instrument restoration, electrical, audio, dashboard, chrome and even seatbelts made such a difference and the end result was something I am delighted with.
Restoration of old cars can be a never-ending bottomless pit and can be traumatic. What rolled out of Ross’s and Stu’s workshop makes it worthwhile. The old adage ‘you get what you pay for’ rings true, and it’s about value not cost!
Thanks, Ross and Stu!

Stu’s Trim and Sound did a terrific job in upgrading and refurbishing the interiors of my 1964 Ford Thunderbird. They installed a new sound system, made new upholstery, carpets and head lining and completely rebuilt the dash with great skill and purpose. It now has the appearance of a new car.
At all times Stu and Ross McCreadie kept me informed of progress and included me in key decisions and material choices, always aiming for the best quality to suit my resources. I am very happy with the result.
I recommend Stu’s Trim and Sound to any car owner who want a careful and creative upgrade of their classic car.

I can’t begin to explain how rapt I am with the car audio install performed by Stus Trim and Sound! My car audio install took about 3 days and in that time they installed a DVD head unit; component speakers, subwoofers and two amps in the boot as a rack setup. A lot of time is spent getting the package tuned correctly so it’s just ‘plug and play’. Once again very happy with the result!
Stu’s team was very responsive to my needs. They listened extremely well and delivered outstanding quality. I could not have wished for a better experience and would highly recommend them if you need a quality job done as promised. I enjoy working with these guys because they do what they say and actually exceed expectations!
I wish to thank you for the fantastic job you recently did redoing the hood lining, console, doors and dash board on my 87 Camaro. I am absolutely thrilled with my new interior and can’t believe you’ve made my car look like new! Thank you for showing such attention to detail and ensuring the best possible result was achieved.
Over the past 4 years, I have been building my own plane, a DynAero MCR-4S which is a French carbon fibre 4 seat plane. After viewing a fellow plane enthusiast’s plane upholstery which was also done by Stu I decided to approach Stu’s Trim & Sound to see what could be done. I had the ideas but not the thoughts about execution. A number of ideas were modelled until we got it right.
The whole experience was good as we felt Stu did it in a very professional way, and at the same time giving a personal touch. It was easy to communicate with his team, give ideas and above all the outcome was how we wanted. The service was on time, the measurements spot on and the workmanship excellent.
